Shallot Jam

Shallots have a mild and wonderful flavor that can complement and elevate dishes in various forms. If you’re looking for a milder version of caramelized onions with a unique twist, this shallot jam may become your favorite addition to burgers, sandwiches, or eggs. It’s a little labor of love but worth it.


Shallot Jam

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Fresh Shallots

  • 2 Tablespoons White Granulated Sugar

  • 1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce

  • 2 Tablespoons Grapeseed Oil (Can Substitute with Olive Oil)

Let’s Create.

  1. Add thinly sliced shallot to the pan with a small amount of grapeseed oil. Slowly sauté until fully caramelized. ~25-30 minutes

  2. Stir in sugar and soy sauce. Cook an additional 1-2 minutes. Enjoy!
